Now that the weather is getting warmer, it’s time to get our houses “summer ready” and wash off that long winter that we thought would never end.  Adding curb appeal can be done with some easy inexpensive fixes.

  1. Paint your door.  Adding a colored door to your home, makes your whole house pop.  Red, black and dark grey painted doors are really popular and it doesn’t take much time or money to do.
  2. Power wash your home.  After a long, snowy, cold winter, your siding probably is covered with a lot of mildew stains, cobwebs and debris from the high winds. Power washing your house, sidewalks and driveway will make your house look very clean.
  3. Add a colorful wreath to your door. You can interchange it with cute holiday door hangings (Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc.)
  4. Add some new hardware to your door that contrasts the color of your door. Black hardware on a white door, or brass on a black door.
  5. Add some hanging baskets or flowers in urns to your porch.
  6. Keep your grass trimmed regularly. A fresh cut lawn is like when you get your haircut, you feel great!
  7. Add new house numbers. There are so many great styles available, an update is always a nice way to change the look.
  8. Take care of any small repairs. Fix cracked paint, repair any torn screens, add light bulbs to any fixtures that have burnt out lights.
  9. Add a cheerful, clean doormat.
  10. Add Landscape lighting. Lighting makes your house shine at night, too.
