I love to craft. All kinds of crafts. Am I great at it? No. Do I try despite that? YES!
But honestly, since we adopted our two daughters, time and resources are at a premium. I used to love to find art or painting or other crafty project classes and sign up for at least one a month to attend with girlfriends or my sister. And sadly, the pandemic forced a couple of my favorite places to close their doors permanently. So, when I starting getting the crafting bug again lately, I was fortunate to find a new bug … Creativebug … and I am obsessed, to say the least.

What is Creativebug you might ask? Well, let me tell you!
Creativebug is a place where crafty people can stream thousands of arts and crafts classes and connect with like-minded people online. With a Creativebug subscription, you get an all-access pass to craft lessons whenever, wherever, and however often you like – right in the comfort of your own home.
Whether you’re wanting to make things for your own home or family, or make gifts for others, Creativebug has a class for it. And you can take as many of them as you want – the sky’s the limit!
Classes such as:
- Painting
- Sewing
- Knitting
- Quilting
- Needle felting
- Cricut projects (check out the cup below that I made)
- Crocheting
- Art and design
- Cooking and baking
- And, on and on and on
Each class is taught by experienced artists or experts in their field. The videos are detailed and a true learning experience. You simply choose a class to take (or pick one from your Watchlist – a great feature of the subscription that I personally love), check out the materials list that they post, gather your supplies, and then sit down and take the class. I really like that the supply list is clearly laid out and there is no guessing what I'll need. I'm easily able to check my supplies at home and see if I need to purchase anything ahead of time.
Another awesome feature that I really like is being able to watch the class and then decide if it’s something I think I can truly do or if I need to find one that better suits my skill level. You can’t do that with classes you have to sign up for, drive to, and buy all of the supplies for only to then find out you don’t like the class or that you are just not ready skill-wise for that type of class. If that happens, you are now out time and money and maybe even the confidence to try another class.
I also love the fact that I can search through their class options so easy to discover new projects that pique my interest. I love the wide variety of classes offered. With the holidays on the horizon, it's been fun to look through the catalog of classes to see what project I think those on my list will enjoy. I've already been practicing my hand lettering and am looking forward to using my new skill to address our holiday cards. It's been fun to push myself out of my comfort zone and to find new skills to work on with Creativebug.
And best of all, my girls can create with me. I love being able to share with my girls the new skills I'm learning. My youngest is an artist at heart and has really enjoyed doing some crafting with me. Being able to choose a class that I enjoy or one that we both enjoy is awesome and it doesn’t get better than that in my opinion.
So, if you’re like me and love to create, but don’t always have the time to go and find a class and then make the time to take the class, you should definitely check out Creativebug, too! Get a free 60-day trial just for Macaroni KID readers!
