Earth Day!

Earth Day is a special day celebrated all around the world to show love and appreciation for our incredible planet. It's a time when people come together to learn about how to take care of the Earth and make sure it stays healthy for many generations to come.

What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd. It's a day when people of all ages join hands to do something good for the environment. From planting trees to cleaning up parks and beaches, there are many ways to celebrate Earth Day and make a positive impact on our planet.

Why is Earth Day important?

Earth Day is important because it reminds us that we all share this one beautiful planet, and it's up to us to take care of it. By taking small steps like recycling, conserving water, and using energy wisely, we can help protect the Earth and all the creatures that call it home.

How can kids celebrate Earth Day?

Kids can celebrate Earth Day in lots of fun and exciting ways! Here are some ideas:

1. Plant a tree: Trees are like the lungs of the Earth, providing us with clean air to breathe. Planting a tree is a great way to give back to the planet and create a habitat for birds and other animals.

2. Clean up litter: Grab a pair of gloves and a trash bag, and head outside to clean up litter in your neighborhood or local park. Every piece of trash you pick up helps keep the Earth clean and safe for wildlife.

3. Save energy: Turn off lights when you leave a room, unplug electronics when you're not using them, and use energy-efficient light bulbs to save electricity.

4. Recycle: Get creative with recycling by turning old materials like cardboard boxes and plastic bottles into art projects or useful items.

5. Learn about nature: Take a nature walk and observe the plants, animals, and insects around you. You can also read books or watch documentaries about the environment to learn more about how you can help protect it.

Earth Day is a wonderful opportunity to show gratitude for our planet and take action to protect it. By working together and making small changes in our daily lives, we can make a big difference for the Earth and all its inhabitants. So let's celebrate Earth Day every day by loving and caring for our amazing planet!

  3. Fill each hole with an assortment of colors making sure to have 2-3 pieces of white in each.

Fun Marker Recycling Program Your Kids Can Start at School

This is a program my kids did as a service project for Earth Day at their school one year. The teachers were all very excited to help, too. It was easy and was really a great visual for littles to see how much they can help with recycling and helping for Earth Day as well. To learn more about the program, click HERE.
