About the Festival

The  2021 Hometown Days Festival is a family-oriented event that provides  entertainment for the entire family to enjoy! Please visit the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Facebook Page for up-to-date festival information.

Carnival

Friday, September 3 - Sunday, September 5
Come on out for some thrills and fun as DRS Skinners'  Amusements is back again in 2021 with a spectacular carnival!   The  carnival is open on the following days and times:

  • Friday, September 3 (5-10pm) 
  • Saturday, September 4 (1-10pm)  
  • Sunday, September 5 (1-8:30pm)

Unlimited Ride Wristband Special

Get ready to ride!  For $20/person, children of all ages can ride an  unlimited amount of rides between 1-5pm on Saturday, September 4 and  Sunday, September 5.  Please note, wristbands are day specific and only  valid on the day of purchase.

Big Band & BBQ

Thursday, September 2 (4:30-7:00pm)

Join the Senior Services Associates of Kendall County and the United City of Yorkville on Thursday, September 2 at Beecher Community Park (908 Game Farm Rd, Yorkville) for an evening filled with great food and entertainment! This event  features 5-B’s BBQ Pork and Chicken dinners for $13/Dinner or $25/Two  Dinners from 4:30-6:30pm and a live performance by the Yorkville Big  Band from 5:00-7:00pm. Carry out or dine-in!  All proceeds go to support programs and services provided by Senior Services Associates. Baby Contest

Friday, September 3 (5:30pm)

Join the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department for the cutest crowd favorite. The baby contest is an annual tradition that brings in the youngest of crowds. This year's Baby Contest is held on Friday, September 3 starting at 5:30pm with registration beginning at 5:15pm.  Participants may register for up to two categories and will be divided  up by gender and age (0-9 Months and 10-18 Months).  Categories include:

  • Craziest Hair
  • Biggest Personality
  • Biggest Eyes
  • Chubbiest Cheeks
  • Great Smile
  • Most Teeth


Yorkville Junior Women's Fall Craft Show

Saturday, September 4 & Sunday, September 5 (11:00-6:00pm)

Come out to the Fall Craft Show hosted by the Yorkville Jr. Women's  Club. This two-day event is held in conjunction with Hometown Days and features over 50 craft vendors!  


Ultimate Air Dogs Competition

Enjoy a spectacular  show of courage and athletics from dogs and their owners  as they jump off a dock after a frisbee into a pool of water. Come as a spectator or compete with your own dog! Competitor registration is taken online at the Ultimate Air DogsWebsite or onsite during the festival. All dogs are welcome; they only have to know how to swim. Strut Your Mutt Competition

Saturday, September 4 (10:45am)

Does your pet have the longest ears, best trick or the most  beautiful eyes? Show us why your pet is the best as they compete for the title in fun categories (listed below) in this year's Strut Your Mutt Competition brought to you by Pet Supplies Plus!  Pets can be entered into two categories and are designated at registration. Registration begins at 10:45am with the competition starting at 11:15am.  All pets are welcome; however, must have valid tags and always  be on a leash or caged. Categories include:

  • Smallest Pet   
  • Largest Pet 
  • Longest Tail    
  • Best Trick 
  • Longest Fur
  • Most Beautiful Eyes

This is an afternoon you won't want to miss as the young and "young at heart" will enjoy singing along to some of Disney's greatest musical hits while meeting some of Disney's most famous characters and other beloved movie characters from Noon-3pm!  Visit all 10 characters collecting stickers at each stop to redeem a fun prize (while supplies last) at the Information Booth!

Saving Oceanika Mobile Escape Room

Saturday, September 4 (Noon-8pm)

Sunday, September 5 (Noon-8pm)

Grab your friends and see if you can solve one of the biggest aquatic mysteries of all time in this15-minute Mobile Escape Room!  he Mobile Escape Room will be at Beecher Park (908 Game Farm Rd, Yorkville) during the United City of Yorkville's Hometown Days Festival on Saturday (9/4)  and Sunday (9/5) from Noon-8pm and runs every half hour throughout the day.  Groups can reserve their spot for FREE online; however, registrations will also be taken day of as space allows.  Please note, groups may be paired together if all 8 spots are not filled and masks must be worn by all participants while inside the Escape Room.

Escape Room Storyline
Off the tropical island of Palau, a group of marine biologist  dive to the ocean's depths to solve the disappearance of a mermaid princess. Surrounded by corals, sunken ships, lost treasure and giant clams it will be up to these scientists to stop the rising temperatures of the ocean by solving one of the biggest aquatic mysteries of all time. All In The Family Bags Tournament

Saturday, September 4 (1:00pm)

Join us for the 2nd Annual All in the Family Bags Tournament on Saturday, September 4 at the Hometown Days Festival! Registration will begin at Noon on Saturday, September 4 with the tournament starting at 1pm. The fee is $40 per team and includes 5 carnival ride tickets, 1 drink ticket for adult (21+) and 2 food tickets for festival vendors (limited menu). First and second place teams will receive a trophy and  Bragging Rights as the Best Parent/Child Bags Team in Yorkville!

Teams may be formed of father/son, mother/daughter, father/daughter, mother/son, older sibling/younger sibling, aunt/niece, etc. Any combination of adult and child will be accepted. Adults are considered anyone aged 18+ and children must be 17 years or younger.  For questions, email Jake Galauner.


Flight Craft Beer Tasting

Saturday, September 4 (2:00-6:00pm)

Come on out for the best happy hour in town on Saturday, September 4 from 2-6pm as Flight Tasting Room & Bottle Shoppe and Heartland Beverage collaborate to provide a mouthwatering craft beer tasting!  For $15/person or $25/couple participants will taste a variety of six (6) craft beers, receive a a souvenir glass AND walk away with a 14oz glass of their favorite! Registration and payments are made in cash the day of the event at the Beer Tent. All participants must be 21 years or older, and able to supply a valid ID.

Dempsey Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Pride and Joy Car Show

Sunday, September 5 (9:00-2:00pm)

This is a Hometown Days favorite! The show is hosted by a live DJ and features classic cars of a variety of makes and models. Day-Of Registration will be accepted for $20/vehicle starting at 9am.

  • Anything that may cause a safety hazard or interfere with patrons enjoyment of the festival.

The best option for parking is in the designated grass area next to the track.
